She Just Looks Like Rigatoni Mad Max!

Rigatoni Mad Max!!

I’ve been a fan of Project Runway from the beginning. Every season, I wait with baited breath for weeks until episode 1 airs.

And then I remember… I also haven’t brushed my teeth in weeks, and that baited breath should probably be remedied with some toothpaste and mouthwash.

The best part about Project Runway, aside from the awesomely creative designs spewing forth from the contestants, are the critiques. And the ridiculously random phrases the judges come up with to describe both the best and the worst designs.

The latest one that’s captured our hearts is the phrase RIGATONI MAD MAX from the unconventional materials challenge. I’ll get shouted text messages at random times from my friend Jenn saying nothing more than RIGATONI MAD MAX and it never fails to crack me up.

Here’s a fun fact. Random phrases like that always look better in all caps. It makes them that much more ridiculous.

So here’s the dress by Elena that made Michael Kors say:

“To me, she just looks like Rigatoni Mad Max. …It’s kind of like when you stare at a cloud and you start seeing things? Now her boobs are turning into old man’s eyes. Okay, now …the crotch looks like a mustache…”

This morning, to give myself a little break from the billion and twelve things on the to do list before the end of the month, I took some time to do a little Project Runway fan art. Cheers to Michael Kors for the most amazing quote to possibly ever be turned into a doctored up Photoshopped movie poster:

All that photoshoppin’ pasta into Mel Gibson’s hand makes me want rigatoni for dinner. Here’s a fun game we can all play! Call the closest Italian restaurant and ask em for the Michael Kors special. They’ll say “Yeah I don’t know what that is.” Then you say “RIGATONI MAD MAX!” and hang up.

If you call back to place an actual order, try to disguise your voice so they don’t spit on your food.

  1. Classic! Speaking of Mad Max, I’ve been hearing about a reboot with Tom Hardy as Max. Hm, I’m just not sure…
