We were so excited to be at the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles last week!
In case you haven’t heard, Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles is the newest shopping extravaganza for lovers of indie crafting, handmade goodies and high quality items alike!
It was so fun to go and see everything the team has done with the place! The exterior of the main building looks vastly different from the Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles sneak peek in April. It was painted up, landscaped, and beatiful windows everywhere.
The weather for the outdoor ribbon cutting ceremony was beautiful, as was the necktie ribbon by Make Shop Live that was cut before shoppers were allowed in for their inaugural shopping adventures. Lots of members of the local community were there to speak about the opening of this new handmade shopping mecca, and Josh and I were taken aback by how well Phil sat through it all! (Here’s a hint parents. Lots of animal crackers.)

I love that they’ve kept a lot of the industrial feel inside Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles. The ceiling fans are something I would actually consider murdering someone for, just so I could have one in my house. But then I’d have to hold someone else for ransom so I’d have the money to make my house big enough for the ceiling fan… so I guess let’s just skip that. I”ll go back to Crafted and drool over theirs as often as I can.
The festivities for the opening weekend included food trucks galore (my favorite being the pizza truck inside a double decker bus), pony rides, and performances by local Long Beach musician Alicia Murphy. Phil had pretty much had it with shopping when Alicia Murphy started playing – he had a date with a fire truck that afternoon and he knew it. So he didn’t dance to the music like he normally does with me and Josh, but we could tell he was digging it in his own begrudging way.
We saw lots of great crafts by lots of amazing crafters, picked up some boozy cupcakes from Cake Bar, and really just took in all of the creativity jam-packed into this place.

Stay tuned! We’ll highlight some of the crafters exhibiting at Crafted in tomorrow’s blog post.
Did you make it to Crafted for the grand opening weekend? What was your favorite thing about it?
