(B)log Lumberjack Theme Forest Party!

I had some friends that write blogs over for a forest party last week!

Uh… What’s a forest party?

Let me explain! I was just going to have the gals over to chat with my friends Nicole Longstreath of The Wardrobe Code and Heather Keiser of style-assistant about what they do. But a couple of weeks before they came over, I was doing dishes and the word logger popped into my head. My brain literally went “b+logger=BLOGGER.” And my woodland and lumberjack inspired forest party was born. (Busy today? Just scroll on down to the end so you can enter to win a set of wine-painted log coasters!)

Blog Woodland Lumberjack Theme Forest Party by Steph Calvert of Hearts and Laserbeams

I’m an art nerd so when I came up with this forest party, it started with a sketch just like everything else:

So just what does a blogging gals lumberjack forest party involve? Great speakers in the form of Nicole Longstreath of The Wardrobe Code and Heather Keiser of style-assistant. Lots of woodsy elements like twigs, pieces of wood, and tiny plastic forest animals sprinkled throughout. Add great bloggy friends like Wendy Nielsen, Shari Bonnin, Linsi Brownson, and Jackie Culmer. Custom paper tablecloths that protect the tables from snacks, look super cute, and are totally recyclable at the end of the night! Oh and SNACKS.

It was a blog party so I threw in some puns like Ants on a Blog on the snack table. And I don’t think anyone noticed, but the drink selection was wine and (b)lager. Get it? Blogger? Yuk yuk yuk! Since it was a forest party, we had rolled up sandwiches that looked like tree rings and black forest cake cupcakes that were iced to look like toadstools as well.

Stay tuned to our blog this week – we’ll be sharing how we made some of the really cute crafty decorations from our forest party like wine-painted log coasters and those cute paper tablecloths!

In the meantime, get that clicky finger ready because it’s giveaway time!

Enter to win 1 set of four wine-painted coasters from our forest party or a single “write” log coaster! Giveaway ends this Friday June 29 at midnight, good luck!

  5. The funniest party I went to was a Fourth of July party my friends threw. Nothings more fun then your friends running way from fireworks.

What a neat idea. And to think, my husband cuts wood to heat our house. Of course, most of the wood is down from tornados or wind storms.
