I’ve always been a little skeptical, but I successfully tried a homemade dry shampoo recipe this week.
I don’t know about you, but when I get a massage, I get a massage. They ask me what kind of pressure I like, and I tell them to go nuts. Because I got a lot of kinks to work out, and they’re pros at workin’ out those kinks. When Cassandra asked if I wanted a head massage along with my back massage, “go nuts” is what I told her. Because my hair is pretty wild, do-what-you-want style, and I don’t mind if it gets messier.
The one small problem with this, was when I woke up a little too late the next morning, needing to get us all ready for a Disneyland day with Jay and Elizabeth, running way behind, no time for a shower, and rocking what can best be described as super-greasy-massage-oil hair.
I grabbed my phone, I hit up that google machine, and I looked up homemade dry shampoo recipes. I found a few, but here’s the one I used based on ingredients I had in my cupboard.
Homemade Dry Shampoo
Mix baking soda and oatmeal.
Boom. That’s your recipe for homemade dry shampoo.
Put it on your head, comb through, done.
I would recommend doing this over your kitchen sink so it can catch the shampoo as it falls off your head. For the small batch I made, I used 1/4 cup each baking soda and oatmeal, and saved the extra unused shampoo in a clean, dry canning jar.
What other homemade dry shampoo recipes have you tried? I like this one, and now I’m open to making other ones when this batch is gone.
Before you know it, I’ll stop bathing entirely!
(Not really kidding. We all know it.)
